Week 34

I realize that I didn't exactly think out my new Rule #6 very thoroughly. For the next week I'll be camping at Lake Tahoe and then I'm going backpacking in Emigrant Wilderness for another six days. I don't have any reservations with climbing or stand up paddle boarding in a dress; I got over any hesitancy with those activities during Weeks 23 and 27. I'm even stoked to accessorize my backpack and hiking boots with a cocktail dress. I can frolic freely betwixt alpine trees and granite peaks all while wearing sequins or satin! Note to myself: pack the most non-heavy gown I have in my closet. I'm bringing a titanium spork and all the latest lightweight gear; I can't weigh myself down with too much bedazzlement. However, the important question is this: Where in tarnation am I going to find a guy to go out on a date with when I'm off in the wilderness?!

By the end of this month, I have to not break my new rule to find a man to ask out, yet I'll be nowhere near civilization. I'll be tramping around in the back country far away from any sport bars, firehouses, construction sites, or any other probable male pick-up grounds. I have to be positive and hope for the best! Ideally, I'll happen upon a trad climber in search of a belayer and if I'm wearing a dress that may even help my cause. Perchance I'll stumble across a lost lumberjack deep in the Sierras and I'll happily provide him with shelter and warmth in the safety of my tent. Or I could discover that Sasquatch is not a beast at all, just a really hairy mountain man raised by wolves and all he needs is a fearless woman to keep him company.  Yes, I'll anticipate the best. If not, well then the next blog post will probably be a grand tale of me going on a double-date with a black bear and a pair of foxes.

At least I got a dress in for this week while I was still in society. I'm finally caught up with my blog entries and ready to find the birds and the bees off in the forest, although I may just end up kickin' it with some marmots and mosquitoes.
